Built with Aluminum, measuring 49.4 x 22.3 x 7 inches, weighing 21 pounds, available in Silver. Notable features include mm 6063-t5 and 6063-t5 aluminum, contributing to its collapsible character.

Key Features

A 1.5 mm 6063-T5 aluminum alloy basket on a carbon steel support bracket keeps this hitch cargo carrier at about 21.2 lbs (9.6 kg), light enough for one person to lift, fit and remove alone. The anodized finish shrugs off road salt, rain and rust with no paint to chip, so the silver tray still looks right after a few winters.

Bolted support plates and a carbon steel bracket reinforce the main frame so it carries up to 500 lbs evenly distributed, enough for coolers, luggage, camping gear, a generator or firewood. Keep heavier items centered over the main frame near the hitch, stay inside your vehicle tongue weight rating, and add a hitch tightener so the platform sits level and stays quiet instead of tilting under load. That 500 lbs is the carrier rating, not your vehicle rating.

The tray is held to 22.4 in deep so most SUV and pickup tailgates open and close without hitting the carrier, which means you keep using your trunk while the basket carries the overflow. The 49.4 x 22.4 in platform adds about 7.7 sq ft of space for coolers, luggage, firewood and camping gear, and everything loads from the rear at tailgate height instead of being lifted into the trunk.

Deep side and end rails stop cargo sliding off on rough roads and give straps or a cargo net a solid anchor point along the frame. Two reflectors and red corner accents keep the tray visible in low light. Load the heaviest items against the end rail, strap everything down before you drive, and keep the carrier under 60 MPH while it is attached.

Built for Class III and Class IV 2 in receivers on SUVs, trucks, vans, RVs and cars, with no vehicle specific adapter needed. Assembly is a bolt-together job that takes about 30 to 45 minutes with two people and basic hand tools; the illustrated manual lists every bolt, washer, nut and pin. If a part is missing or damaged, message us through your order and we ship a replacement free.

Why Choose the Aluminum Hitch Cargo Carrier

Consistently chosen by cargo baskets buyers, the Aluminum Hitch Cargo Carrier, 500 lb Capacity, 49.4 x 22.4 in delivers collapsible construction alongside mm 6063-t5 for reliable easy access.

Best For

Recommended for kitchen pantry, the Aluminum Hitch Cargo Carrier, 500 lb Capacity, 49.4 x 22.4 in addresses common needs with lightweight construction.

Quick Summary

The Aluminum Hitch Cargo Carrier is a Cargo Baskets product by .
